You Are Here is a decadent Imperial Stout crafted in collaboration with the Low Key Barrel Project, showcasing a masterful handle on the dark arts. This 10.2% ABV beer delivers an intense sensory experience defined by layers of rich Chocolate and toasted Coconut. The addition of Tonka beans provides a sophisticated aromatic bridge between spiced almond and vanilla, perfectly complementing the flavor of a fresh-baked Vanilla Brownie. Despite its massive gravity and indulgent dessert-like qualities, the beer remains a balanced Imperial Stout, weaving together deep roasted malts with a smooth, lingering warmth and a complex, velvety finish.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, deep tan to dark brown head with moderate retention. High viscosity is evident through slow-moving legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring heavy bittersweet chocolate, cocoa, and toasted coconut. The Tonka beans contribute complex notes of almond, vanilla, and a hint of cinnamon. Moderate esters of dark fruit like raisins and prunes are present, alongside a soft, integrated alcohol warmth.
Taste. Initial impression is rich and sweet with flavors of brownie batter and dark chocolate. Mid-palate reveals creamy coconut and the spicy, cherry-almond complexity of Tonka. The roasted malt provides a firm bitterness that balances the high residual sweetness, preventing a cloying finish. The aftertaste is long and indulgent, featuring notes of vanilla cream and warming alcohol.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied, viscous, and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, gentle alcohol warmth is noticeable but well-integrated, with no harshness or astringency.
