This Hazy IPA showcases a singular focus on Citra hops, delivering an intense sensory experience defined by layers of tropical fruit and bright citrus. The pour reveals a signature opaque glow with a resilient, meringue-like white head. On the nose, Citra provides waves of mango, grapefruit, and lime, supported by a clean, grainy malt backbone. The palate mirrors these aromatics with a plush, juicy character and a restrained bitterness that highlights the hop's goodness. A soft, smooth mouthfeel and an off-dry finish ensure high drinkability while emphasizing the velvety texture and lush Citra presence central to the New England style.
Appearance. Straw to light amber (3-7 SRM) with a characteristic opaque haze and a luminous shine. Supports a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by Citra, featuring notes of sweet mango, passion fruit, grapefruit, and lime zest. Background malt is neutral and lightly bready; fermentation esters are subtly fruity and supportive.
Taste. Pronounced fruity hop flavors of citrus and tropical stone fruit. Medium-low perceived bitterness is well-integrated and masked by a fuller body. Malt contributes a light grainy sweetness, leading to a smooth, off-dry finish with lingering hop oils.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and moderate carbonation. Low alcohol warmth is appropriate for the 6.2% ABV. Completely free of hop harshness, astringency, or raw starchiness.
