The Casimir Effect V3 presents a striking visual haze that belies its remarkably clean and focused palate. This Double IPA leads with a high-intensity hop punch, dominated by vibrant citrus notes of grapefruit zest and sweet tangerine. While the appearance is opaque, the flavor profile remains crisp, avoiding the muddled or yeasty characteristics often found in hazy examples. A lean malt backbone provides just enough support for the assertive, integrated bitterness, ensuring the hop character remains the undisputed star. It finishes dry and refreshing, with a lingering citrus-rind brightness and a smooth, well-hidden alcohol presence that highlights its high drinkability.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (6 SRM). Very hazy, nearly opaque. Large, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent citrus, specifically grapefruit and orange zest. Supportive, clean, neutral-grainy maltiness in the background. Neutral fermentation profile with no significant esters or phenols.
Taste. Strong citrus hop flavors lead, mimicking the aroma. Low, clean, soft malt character allows the hops to shine. High bitterness that is firm but smooth and non-harsh. Very clean taste with a dry finish and a lingering, crisp citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Moderate-high carbonation. Low alcohol warmth. Refreshing and lacks any hop-derived astringency.
