Gravity Well Brewing Co Supercritical Fluid
This Hazy IPA presents an intense sensory profile driven by a heavy dry-hop regimen of Riwaka, Strata, and Citra. The nose is a vibrant explosion of passion fruit and pungent citrus from the Riwaka, complemented by Strata’s unique notes of strawberry and tropical dankness. Citra rounds out the bouquet with layers of bright mango and lime. The palate follows suit with a juicy, fruit-forward saturated hop character and a soft, pillowy mouthfeel. Despite its 6% ABV, the beer remains exceptionally drinkable with a restrained bitterness, finishing with a lingering, off-dry tropical fruit impression that epitomizes the modern New England style.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (3–6 SRM) with a dense, opaque haze that gives the beer a luminous shine. Topped with a thick, meringue-like white head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense hop-derived aromatics featuring prominent passion fruit, grapefruit, and a hint of dankness. Background notes of sweet strawberry, mango, and lychee are supported by a light, bready, and grainy malt character. Fermentation esters are fruity and well-integrated with the hop profile.
Taste. High-intensity tropical and citrus hop flavors including lime, passion fruit, and peach. The malt provides a low, neutral bready foundation that allows the hops to shine. Perceived bitterness is low to moderate and very soft, lacking any harshness or hop bite. The finish is smooth and off-dry with a clean, fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and rounded texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is no astringency or hop burn, and the alcohol provides a very light, well-integrated warmth.
