Gravity Well Brewing Co

This Double IPA is a singular exploration of the Strata hop, utilizing both standard and Strata CGX pellets to deliver an intense sensory experience. The profile is defined by a heavy saturation of dank resin, ripe passion fruit, and subtle strawberry notes characteristic of the variety. At 8% ABV, it presents a substantial presence that remains remarkably juicy. A thick, velvety body supports the aggressive hopping, while a clean, neutral malt base allows the complex tropical and herbal layers of Strata to dominate. The result is a bold, modern expression of a potent hop-forward ale with a lingering, resinous finish.

Appearance. Gold to deep orange (7-10 SRM). Marked haze with a moderate-sized, persistent white head that leaves dense lacing on the glass.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring pungent dankness and cannabis-like resin, followed by high-intensity tropical notes of passion fruit, mango, and sweet strawberry. Low, neutral, grainy maltiness in the background.

Taste. Strong hop flavors of grapefruit, berry, and herbal resin. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but smooth, avoiding harshness. Low, supportive bready malt character. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, thick texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but restrained and smooth alcohol warmth. No hop-derived astringency.
