Gravity Well Brewing Co

Gridfire is a modern Double IPA that showcases the innovative potential of the New Zealand hop program. Utilizing experimental hops NZH-106 and NZH-109, this ale radiates with an intense bouquet of passionfruit, zesty lime, and crushed gooseberries. Its 8% ABV is seamlessly integrated, providing a smooth backdrop for the explosive hop profile. The palate is defined by a clean, neutral malt base that allows the vivid tropical and citrus notes to lead, finishing with a firm, drying bitterness. This selection from the Singularity Series offers a sensory journey through unique Southern Hemisphere aromatics, balancing high-impact hop intensity with remarkable drinkability and a crisp, resinous finish.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (7-9 SRM) with good clarity. Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by New Zealand character: passionfruit, lime zest, and white wine grapes. Background notes of peach and subtle resin are supported by a neutral, grainy malt presence and a clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Strong hop flavors of grapefruit, apricot, and tropical fruit lead. The malt is soft and unobtrusive, providing a lean, grainy foundation. Bitterness is high but clean and smooth, leading into a dry finish with a lingering resinous and fruity aftertaste. Alcohol is present but clean.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. Features a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
