Granizo Hazy Discovery

This collaborative Hazy IPA offers a sensory journey through a dense forest of tropical and vinous notes. The complex hop profile, featuring Nelson, Nelson Thiol, Sabro, Nectaron, and Motueka Thiol, delivers a vibrant explosion of white wine grape, sweet coconut, and ripe nectarine. A soft, pillowy malt backbone provides a structural canvas for these intense aromatics without distracting toast or caramel. The inclusion of thiols amplifies the passion fruit and citrus zest characteristics, while the yeast esters harmonize with the hop-derived peach and pineapple. It finishes with a smooth, restrained bitterness and a lingering, juicy fruit character that invites another sip.
Appearance. Color is straw to light orange (3–6 SRM). Opaque with a characteristic hazy shine; no visible yeast clumps or hop particulates. Features a medium, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by white wine, gooseberry, and passion fruit from Nelson and Nelson Thiol. Distinctive sweet coconut and hints of cedar from Sabro blend with intense peach and pineapple from Nectaron. Background notes of lime zest from Motueka Thiol are present. Malt character is clean, neutral, and lightly bready.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma, showing layers of white grape, nectarine, and creamy coconut. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft and masked by the body. Malt provides a light grainy support without sweetness. The finish is off-dry and exceptionally smooth, featuring a long-lasting tropical fruit aftertaste devoid of any harsh hop burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Medium carbonation provides a gentle lift. Very light alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated; no astringency or raw starch texture.
