Granizo Fracture is a monumental Imperial Stout that commands attention, celebrating a decade of boundary-pushing brewing. Aged in premium Blanton’s Original Single Barrel Bourbon casks, it reveals a luxurious interplay of intense dark chocolate, espresso, and caramelized sugars layered with deep oak, sweet vanilla, and a distinct bourbon warmth. Velvet-smooth yet assertive, this massive stout delivers a complex journey of dark stone fruits, toasted coconut, and sticky molasses, resolving in a warming, spirit-forward finish. It is a bold, deeply satisfying expression of liquid craftsmanship that balances extreme roast complexity with refined barrel elegance.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a thick, dense, dark brown head that exhibits moderate retention and leaves oily legs on the glass, signaling high viscosity and alcohol content.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by a rich blend of roasted malts, espresso, and bittersweet dark chocolate, closely followed by robust bourbon barrel character. Aromas of sweet vanilla, charred oak, coconut, and caramel meld with low dark fruit esters of prune and raisin. Alcohol is prominent but smooth and spirit-like, without solvent harshness.

Taste. Intense and highly complex. Initial impression of bittersweet dark chocolate and heavy roasted coffee is quickly met by a wave of Blanton's bourbon flavor, sweet vanilla, and toasted oak. Medium-high bitterness from both roasted grains and hops keeps the sweet, malt-forward profile in check. Low earthy hop character is buried beneath rich esters of plum and fig. The finish is lingering, bittersweet, and warm, featuring a harmonious blend of dark cocoa, woody tannins, and bourbon whiskey.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, dense, and chewy with a velvety, luscious, and coating texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, which enhances the beer's creamy weight. A smooth, deep alcohol warmth is highly noticeable but excellently integrated, causing no harshness or burn.
