Gower Power is a robust English IPA that showcases the rustic, rich depth of traditionally floor-malted barley alongside a generous addition of classic whole hops. Pouring a brilliant deep amber with a dense, off-white head, it delivers a complex aromatic profile where bready, toasty malt notes intertwine with floral, spicy-peppery, and orange-citrus hop aromas. On the palate, a balanced presentation of biscuity malt and fruity esters yields to a firm, clean hop bitterness that lingers pleasantly. This strong Welsh ale delivers a well-rounded, classic British drinking experience, concluding with a satisfying, dry finish and a subtle touch of warming alcohol.
Appearance. Deep copper-amber in color with brilliant clarity. Crowned by a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves soapy lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. Moderate to high hop aroma showing classic floral, spicy-peppery, and orange peel notes. Supported by a medium-low, rich, bready, and lightly toasty malt character from the floor-malted barley, alongside low English-yeast esters of apple and pear.
Taste. The initial sip delivers supportive biscuit and lightly toasted malt flavors, quickly followed by medium-high hop flavors of earthy spice and citrus. The hop bitterness is assertive but clean. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering, pleasant bitterness and a hint of sweet malt in the background.
Mouthfeel. Smooth, medium body with moderate carbonation that enhances the dry finish. Features a very light, pleasant alcohol warmth that is well-integrated and free of harshness or astringency.
