This 2018 vintage sparkling cider presents an elegant, sophisticated profile defined by its traditional Champagne Method production. The sensory experience is led by vibrant notes of crisp green apples and delicate white floral tones, underpinned by a sophisticated biscuit-like complexity derived from extended lees aging. Highly effervescent and brilliantly clear, it delivers a sharp, clean palate with a refreshing acidity that mirrors a fine sparkling wine. The finish is remarkably dry and refined, showcasing the pure fruit character of the apples without the intrusion of heavy tannins, resulting in a balanced, celebratory Contemporary Cider.
Appearance. Brilliant, pale straw gold with vigorous, fine-beaded effervescence. Forms a brief, mousse-like white head that settles into a persistent ring around the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant fresh apple aromatics, reminiscent of green culinary apples and floral blossoms. Distinct secondary notes of toasted brioche and light yeastiness emerge from the traditional method bottle conditioning and lees contact.
Taste. Initial impression is dry and intensely refreshing. Clean apple flavors dominate the mid-palate, supported by a firm, bright acidity. No hop bitterness or malt presence is detected. The finish is crisp and very clean, with a lingering mineral quality and a faint hint of savory yeast, adhering to the Brut designation.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with a prickly, champagne-like carbonation that provides a lively scrub on the tongue. Alcohol is deceptively well-integrated, offering only a very subtle, clean warmth despite the high strength. No astringency or tannin.

Gospel Green Cyder began in 1990 when James Lane returned from working in Épernay, France, inspired by Champagne, he set out to create England's finest traditional method cider. Blackmoor Estate's apples have been used to produce this traditional method cider for the past 30 years and now with Gospel Green within the Blackmoor Estate family the original recipe is used to this day. The cider house is less than a mile away from the orchards where their eating and culinary apples are hand-picked ensuring supreme quality and taste.
The 2018 Brut is light, fruity and fresh, with just the right amount of sweetness added in its dosage.
