Lift is an approachable American Porter that balances traditional European specialty malts with a modern hop profile. An extended boil develops a foundational depth of clean caramel and baker’s chocolate, while light-roast coffee notes provide a gentle roasted complexity. The inclusion of New Zealand and American hops introduces a subtle bright spice that elevates the darker malt character without overwhelming the palate. It presents a silky, full-bodied texture that remains remarkably easy-drinking, bridging the gap between old-world malt complexity and new-world hop vibrancy for a balanced, multifaceted sensory experience.
Appearance. Deep brown to near-black (30–38 SRM) with garnet highlights. Features a thick, persistent tan head with excellent lacing and a clear but nearly opaque clarity.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring dominant baker’s chocolate and light-roast coffee. Secondary notes of clean caramel and toffee provide malty richness. Low floral and bright spicy hop character from the American and New Zealand varieties; fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression of smooth cocoa and toasted grains. Mid-palate reveals layers of caramel and coffee. Bitterness is moderate, balancing the malt sweetness without becoming acrid or harsh. Hop flavor is earthy with a hint of spice. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering dark chocolate aftertaste.
