This indulgent Fruit Beer presents a thick, tropical escape, pushing the boundaries of a standard IPA with a heavy smoothie treatment. A lush profile of ripe mango and zesty pineapple dominates the senses, while the inclusion of banana provides a creamy, sundae-like depth. The aggressive hopping of Citra and Amarillo Cryo weaves in layers of bright citrus and soft peach, tempering the sweetness without overwhelming the palate with bitterness. This vibrant, dessert-inspired ale balances high-intensity tropical esters with a soft malt backbone, delivering a rich, fruit-forward experience that remains remarkably cohesive and dessert-like through the finish.
Appearance. Opaque, dense orange-yellow hue (4-6 SRM); thick, frothy white head with excellent retention and heavy lacing reminiscent of fruit pulp.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant aromas of fresh mango and crushed pineapple supported by a distinct ripe banana sweetness. Citra and Amarillo Cryo hops contribute significant grapefruit and floral peach notes, masking any base malt scents.
Taste. Initial impression is sweet and juice-like; vibrant flavors of tropical fruit nectar lead into a creamy mid-palate. Citra provides a citrus zest while Amarillo Cryo adds stone fruit complexity. Bitterness is low to moderate, serving only to balance the residual fruit sugars.
