American IPA 7.4 º
This American IPA pays homage to the classic West Coast style with a bold, assertive sensory profile. Deep golden and brilliantly clear, it leads with an intense bouquet of grapefruit zest and resinous forest floor, driven by the iconic trifecta of Citra, Centennial, and Simcoe hops. On the palate, a lean, toasty malt base provides just enough support for waves of sharp citrus peel and dank pine. A firm, lingering bitterness defines the experience, leading into a crisp, bone-dry finish. At 7.4% ABV, it offers a well-integrated warmth that enhances its refreshing, old-school hop-forward character.
Appearance. Deep golden color (approx. 8 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a thick, frothy, white head that shows excellent persistence and leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, lemon rind, and orange zest. Strong secondary notes of resinous pine and subtle damp wood. Very low, clean, bready malt sweetness in the background with a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Bold citrus-forward flavors of grapefruit and lime dominate the initial impression, followed quickly by a spicy, resinous pine character. High hop bitterness is firm but clean, balancing a light toasted malt backbone. The finish is very dry and crisp with a long-lingering, pleasant bitterness and a touch of hop resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, slightly oily hop texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a crisp bite. A light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no astringency.
