This Hazy IPA offers a unique sensory interplay between the tropical intensity of Citra hops and the earthy, vanilla-like sweetness of Ube. Vibrant aromas of mango, lychee, and bright lime zest lead the way, supported by a subtle, nutty undertone characteristic of the purple yam. The appearance is notably opaque with a soft, lavender-tinted glow reflecting the adjunct addition. On the palate, the soft, bready malt foundation allows the Citra-driven citrus and stone fruit flavors to shine, while the Ube adds a velvety, coconut-like richness. It concludes with a restrained bitterness and a smooth, pillowy finish that highlights its luscious, fruit-forward character.
Appearance. Straw to light amber with a distinct lavender-purple hue from the ube; opaque haze with a healthy shine. Thick, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring Citra-derived mango, grapefruit, and lime. Low bready malt supports a unique, earthy vanilla and light nutty sweetness from the ube. Clean fermentation with subtle tropical esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor of mango and citrus. The ube provides a medium-low earthy, creamy vanilla-like sweetness that complements the grainy, bready malt. Low perceived bitterness with a smooth, off-dry finish that is juicy and devoid of hop harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Medium carbonation. Very smooth with a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and no astringency.
