Speed Yellow is a vibrant American IPA that exemplifies the West Coast philosophy with its crisp, dry profile and assertive hop presence. The use of Simcoe provides a classic foundation of resinous pine and bright grapefruit, while Mosaic Cryo amplifies the aromatic intensity with concentrated layers of ripe blueberry, mango, and stone fruit. A clean, lean malt backbone ensures the hop character remains the primary focus, leading into a refreshing and sharply bitter finish. This beer strikes a masterful balance between modern tropical fruit expressions and traditional resinous depth, offering a brilliant, high-clarity sensory experience that is both pungent and highly drinkable.
Appearance. Medium gold (approx. 7 SRM); brilliant clarity; medium-sized, white, persistent head with significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent resinous pine and citrus from Simcoe, alongside intense tropical fruit, blueberry, and melon notes driven by Mosaic Cryo. Low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a neutral background. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward and dry. High hop flavors of grapefruit zest, pine needles, passionfruit, and subtle berry. Low grainy-sweet malt character supports the hops without adding sweetness. High bitterness that is firm but not harsh. Finishes very dry and clean with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, smooth texture. Medium-high carbonation. Very light, smooth alcohol warmth. No perceived astringency.

The beer uses 5.5 lbs per bbl of Mosaic Cryo and hand selected Simcoe hops to give off a sensory experience of pineapple, grapefruit, and berries. It was also fermented with Lager yeast for some extra crispness and aromatics that are perfect for this style. It’s my favorite IPA on the board and at only 6.2% ABV, you can drink a couple with ease.
