This contemporary take on an Ordinary Bitter presents a vibrant hop profile featuring Goldings and Northern Brewer for a traditional earthy foundation, seamlessly integrated with modern accents of Citra and Rakau. The aroma leads with bright citrus and exotic fruit notes driven by Eldorado and Simcoe, while Columbus adds a resinous depth. On the palate, a bready, biscuity malt backbone supports the lively fruit character and a distinct hint of pine. Gently carbonated and well-rounded, it maintains high drinkability with a clean, hoppy bitter finish that remains crisp and refreshingly dry, staying true to its sessionable British roots.
Appearance. Light copper color (approx. 10 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a low, off-white head with moderate retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate aroma intensity blending floral and earthy hop notes with distinct citrus and tropical fruit. Low bready, biscuity malt complexity is present, alongside mild fruity esters and a subtle resinous undertone. No diacetyl.
Taste. Decidedly bitter balance with a medium-high hop bitterness. Flavors of grapefruit, lime, and exotic fruit are prominent, supported by a low toasty malt character. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering, pleasant hoppy bitterness and low fruity esters.
