This session-strength American IPA presents a vibrant sensory profile driven by classic American hops. Utilizing Chinook and Cascade, the aroma is defined by bright grapefruit, floral tones, and a distinct resinous pine. Despite the approachable 4.5% alcohol, the inclusion of flaked oats and wheat imparts a smooth, medium-light body that provides a soft landing for the firm bitterness. The palate remains hop-forward and crisp, delivering a clean, refreshing finish with lingering notes of citrus zest and evergreen. It perfectly captures the spirit of a highly drinkable yet flavor-dense hoppy ale, balancing its lighter frame with punchy aromatics.
Appearance. Medium gold (6-7 SRM) with a slight, persistent haze from protein-rich adjuncts. Features a medium-sized, white, creamy head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity hop aroma featuring grapefruit, floral citrus, and a resinous, spicy pine character. Low grainy-sweet maltiness with a subtle bready wheat note. Fermentation is clean with very low esters.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of grapefruit zest and pine needles. Low, clean, bready malt support from the wheat and flaked oats. Medium-high hop bitterness that is firm but not harsh. Finishes dry and crisp with a lingering hoppy aftertaste of citrus and resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a noticeably smooth, almost creamy texture from the oats. Moderate-high carbonation provides a refreshing bite. No alcohol warmth or astringency.
