Aloha From Bala is a refreshing hybrid that infuses a traditional German Pils with modern kettle-souring and dry-hopping techniques. The sensory profile is defined by a zesty lactic acidity that brightens a clean, cracker-like Continental Pilsner malt base. Floral and herbal dry-hop aromas leap forward, providing a more intense aromatic experience than standard lagers. On the palate, the beer is remarkably crisp and dry, where a firm hop bitterness meets a sharp, tart finish. This combination of snappy attenuation and vibrant acidity makes for an incredibly clean and revitalizing lager with a distinctively tart edge.
Appearance.Straw to pale yellow (2–4 SRM). Features a bright, white, creamy head with moderate retention and light lacing. Clarity is generally brilliant to very clear, though a faint dry-hop haze may be present.
Aroma.Moderate to high intensity. Bright lactic acidity provides a tangy citrus note, followed by floral and herbal hop character. The malt presents low grainy-sweet or toasted cracker notes. Fermentation is clean, allowing the dry-hopped accents to shine.
Taste. The initial impression is a snappy lactic tartness, quickly followed by grainy-sweet malt flavor. Hop bitterness is medium-high, balanced by the acidity. The finish is remarkably dry and crisp, with lingering notes of spicy hops and a faint minerality.
