This bright, golden American IPA showcases the singular character of hand-selected Nelson Sauvin hops. A quintessential "Cali style" expression, it opens with an intense aromatic profile of fresh passionfruit and sharp, bright gooseberry, reminiscent of a tropical juicebox. The sensory experience is defined by a clean, grainy malt backbone that allows the distinctive New Zealand hop oils to dominate the palate. Expect a dry, refreshing finish with a firm but integrated bitterness. It bridges the gap between classic West Coast structure and modern southern hemisphere hop intensity, delivering a focused, vibrant, and incredibly aromatic drinking experience.

Appearance. Color is medium gold (approximately 6 SRM). Clarity is brilliant with a medium-sized white head showing good persistence and light lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passionfruit, white grape, and bright gooseberry. Low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a subtle supporting base. Fermentation profile is clean with no significant yeast esters.

Taste. High hop flavor echoing the aroma with intense passionfruit, gooseberry, and tropical fruit notes. The malt flavor is low and grainy, providing a neutral platform for the hops. Bitterness is medium-high and clean. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth texture and medium-high carbonation. Alcohol presence provides a very light, smooth warmth without any harshness or astringency.

When we started out we were tiny. Garage Project wasn't even micro brewing… it was a truly nano brewery.
After nine years of working in breweries with equipment 100 times bigger it was quite a change to downsize to a fifty litre brew kit. But what we lacked in size we more than made up for in agility and the ability to experiment.
When you’re brewing on such a small scale you can afford to take risks. That suited us. We wanted to try something new.
Five years have passed and we’ve grown, but that same ethos still shapes how we do things at the Garage. Whether we’re brewing 50 litres or 2000, we’re still here to take some risks, to have a bit of fun and to try something new.
Way back in the day, when we were just starting out, we wrote a little blurb about each other to shed some light on who we are, and what lead us down the path of starting a brewery in Wellington, (if you’ve ever written your own bio, you’ll know how hard it can be!).
