This American IPA is a vibrant celebration of the New Zealand harvest, blending the electric, wet hop intensity of freshly picked Nelson Sauvin and Waimea cones with the established punch of Mosaic and Simcoe. The result is a synergistic fusion of bright tropical fruit and resinous pine. Nelson Sauvin provides signature crushed gooseberry and white wine notes, while the wet Waimea cones add a distinctive verdant, grassy freshness unique to the harvest. Supported by the berry-like depth of Mosaic and the sharp, citrus-pine of Simcoe, the beer balances its intense hop-forward character against a clean, lean malt backbone, finishing crisp and decidedly bitter.
Appearance. Ranging from medium gold to light amber (SRM 6–11). It features a medium-sized, persistent white head with fine lacing. Clarity is generally clear, though a slight, vibrant haze may be present from the heavy use of fresh wet hop cones.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma characterized by a complex layering of resinous pine, passionfruit, and crushed gooseberry. The wet hop influence adds a prominent, freshly-cut grass and chlorophyll freshness. Low, clean grainy maltiness provides a neutral backdrop for the powerful hop bouquet, with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and sharp citrus, followed by a mid-palate of white wine and dank pine. High hop bitterness is firm but not harsh, supported by a low, grainy malt presence with a hint of toasted cracker. The finish is medium-dry to dry, leaving a lingering aftertaste of citrus peel and resinous hop oils.
Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, oily texture from the hop resins. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp, refreshing bite. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at 6.5% ABV, without any astringency.
