Garage Project Fuzzy Feelings
Imperial IPA 8.2 º
Fuzzy Feelings is a lush Hazy Double IPA that prioritizes a saturated, tropical hop experience supported by a velvety grist of oats and wheat. The aromatic profile is led by intense waves of pineapple and citrus, driven by the expressive combination of Citra and Galaxy hops. Strata and Luminosa add layers of sweet tropical fruit and subtle resin, while the addition of Peacharine provides a distinctive, juicy ripe peach character that defines the finish. Despite its 8.2% strength, the beer maintains high drinkability with a soft bitterness and a clean, supportive malt backbone that emphasizes the vibrant New World hop flavors.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM) with a permanent, heavy haze and opaque character. Pours with a thick, persistent, creamy white head that leaves dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of passion fruit, pineapple, and ripe peach. Secondary notes of orange zest and sweet melon are present, supported by a low, bready malt character from the wheat and oats. Fermentation is clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of juicy tropical fruit. Strong flavors of peach, grapefruit, and pineapple follow, reflecting the Strata and Peacharine influence. Bitterness is firm but smooth and well-integrated, avoiding harshness. Malt flavor is low to moderate, providing a soft, doughy foundation. The finish is medium-dry with a long, lingering resonance of fruit-forward hops.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a noticeably creamy, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A smooth, restrained alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its strength, but without any harshness or astringency.

When we started out we were tiny. Garage Project wasn't even micro brewing… it was a truly nano brewery.
After nine years of working in breweries with equipment 100 times bigger it was quite a change to downsize to a fifty litre brew kit. But what we lacked in size we more than made up for in agility and the ability to experiment.
When you’re brewing on such a small scale you can afford to take risks. That suited us. We wanted to try something new.
Five years have passed and we’ve grown, but that same ethos still shapes how we do things at the Garage. Whether we’re brewing 50 litres or 2000, we’re still here to take some risks, to have a bit of fun and to try something new.
Way back in the day, when we were just starting out, we wrote a little blurb about each other to shed some light on who we are, and what lead us down the path of starting a brewery in Wellington, (if you’ve ever written your own bio, you’ll know how hard it can be!).
