Garage Project Fresh IPA - APR 25
This Hazy IPA utilizes a complex grist of Canterbury-grown wheat malt and chitted wheat to produce a soft, pillowy body with a light patisserie sweetness. The sensory profile is led by an intense pineapple juice aroma and perfumed resin, courtesy of Oregon-grown Strata. A massive dry-hop addition of Luminosa, Riwaka, and Eclipse introduces layers of succulent mango spiked with zesty mandarin and tangelo juice. A fleeting note of diesel sativa adds a modern, dank complexity. With bitterness intentionally restrained to preserve juicy hop oils, the beer finishes exceptionally smooth, offering a refreshing tropical fruit character that encourages another sip.
Appearance. Straw to light gold in color with a deep, opaque haze and a luminous shine. Features a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring dominant notes of fresh pineapple juice, ripe mango, and zesty mandarin. A distinct but complementary resinous dankness akin to diesel is present. Malt character is supportive, presenting as lightly bready wheat and sweet grain. Fermentation is clean with neutral esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit including pineapple and mango, transitioning into bright citrus flavors of tangelo and mandarin juice. The malt flavor is low to medium, providing a soft, bread-like sweetness that balances the hops. Perceived bitterness is low and exceptionally smooth. The finish is off-dry and juicy with a lingering tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a gentle mouthfeel. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, but the beer remains highly drinkable without any astringency or harshness.

Garage Project - Fresh IPA - April '25 NEIPA Price: $13.95 We’re not fooling around this April - it’s a heavy wheat-focussed FRESH, with Light Lager, Canterbury-grown Wheat Malt and undermodified Chitted Wheat, balancing mouthfeel, foam and drinkability while creating a satisfying patisserie sweetness - without being cloying. We’ve ramped up the whirlpool addition this month too, with 100% Oregon-grown, Coleman’s Alluvial Farm Strata (Willamette Valley) added right at the end of the boil. We've also cooled the wort during transfer from the kettle - all together reducing bitterness and preserving that juicy, dank hop aroma. Then it’s a solid dry-hop of Oregon Luminosa, and my favourite lots of Nelson Lake’s Riwaka and Australian Eclipse. Pineapple juice aroma with a warm note of perfumed resin on the nose. Then pineapple greets the palate again on the first sip, opening up to mango spiked with mandarin & tangelo juice, and just a fleeting hint of diesel sativa. Satisfying, but so drinkable you’ll find yourself squeezing the last few drops from the can.
