This Double IPA from the Oat Cream series offers a lush, sensory-forward experience centered on a velvety foundation of oats and lactose. A vibrant hop quartet of Galaxy, Peacharine, Luminosa, and Sabro delivers an intense bouquet of ripe tangerine, juicy peach, and tropical mango. The addition of creamy oats creates a smooth, sweet oat milk base that carries distinct notes of coconut and wild berry. While fundamentally a Double IPA, its character is defined by a plush, pillowy texture and a saturated hop profile, balancing the strength of an 8% ale with a modern, fruit-driven softness and a lingering tropical finish.
Appearance. Luminous pale gold to light orange (6-7 SRM) with a dense, persistent creamy white head and significant lacing. Opaque and hazy, showing high protein suspension typical of its grain bill.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of tropical and stone fruit. Strong notes of peach and mango from Peacharine and Galaxy are accompanied by a distinct coconut sweetness from Sabro and bright tangerine citrus. A background of sweet cream and grainy oats supports the hop-forward profile with low fermentation esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a rich, sweet oat milk creaminess. Mid-palate explodes with mango, berry, and peach flavors. The Luminosa hops provide a subtle floral citrus lift, while Sabro contributes a lingering coconut and tropical punch character. Bitterness is firm but rounded and softened by the lactose, finishing with a lingering fruit-skin dryness amidst a sweet, smooth aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full-bodied with a soft, pillowy, and exceptionally creamy texture. Moderate carbonation provides enough lift to prevent cloying. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, reflecting its 8% strength without being harsh.
