Imperial IPA 8 º
This Double IPA is a bold, hop-forward showcase of Centennial, Idaho 7, and Simcoe. It opens with an intense sensory wave of zesty grapefruit and sticky, resinous pineapple, grounded by a distinctive dank pine character. The addition of wheat and oats creates a remarkably silky, smooth mouthfeel that masterfully carries the 8% ABV without harshness. Despite its intensity, the profile remains bright and focused on the resinous fruit qualities of the Pacific Northwest hops. It finishes dry and clean, leaving a lingering impression of tropical fruit and evergreen needles against a soft, bready malt backdrop.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange. Slight haze from the high protein content of the grains. Large, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring heavy grapefruit citrus, ripe pineapple, and a pungent, resinous dank pine. Low, neutral grainy malt sweetness. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. High hop flavor of zesty citrus, tropical fruit, and forest floor resin. Bitterness is firm and assertive but smooth. Low bready malt support from the specialty grains. Finish is dry with a long-lasting, resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, silky texture. Moderate carbonation. Smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
