Dominated by prominent notes of passion fruit and bright citrus from heavy Simcoe and Cascade additions, the aromatic profile is further enriched by the tropical depth of Mosaic and a subtle, dank herbal complexity from Palisade. Despite its 9.7% ABV, the beer maintains a rounded balance, avoiding harshness through careful whirlpool and first-wort hopping. A clean, supportive malt backbone allows the intricate layers of berry and pine to shine, culminating in a dry, lingering finish that masks its strength with deceptive drinkability.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper color with a slight, modern haze from extensive dry-hopping. It supports a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring a complex blend of tropical fruit, specifically passion fruit and mango, alongside bright grapefruit citrus. Subtle notes of resinous pine and a dank, herbal earthiness are present in the background. The malt is neutral and grainy, while the fermentation profile is clean with a very soft hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of hop-derived citrus and tropical fruit flavors. The bitterness is high but notably smooth and rounded, lacking any harsh or metallic edge. A light, supportive malt character provides a clean base without sweetness. The finish is dry to medium-dry, leaving a lingering hop-forward aftertaste of resin and fruit. Alcohol is well-integrated and clean.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate to medium-high. A refined, gentle alcohol warmth is present but remains well-integrated, contributing to a substantial mouthfeel without astringency.
