This luscious Double IPA delivers an intense, candy-like sensory experience driven by a heavy-hitting hop profile of Citra, Simcoe, Simcoe Cryo, and El Dorado. The aroma is a vibrant explosion of peachy candy and sharp grapefruit, evoking a nostalgic, sherbet-like sweetness reminiscent of Pez candies. Thanks to a grain bill rich in flaked oats, the palate is exceptionally smooth and soft, balancing its high hopping rate with a creamy, medium-full mouthfeel. Despite its 8.2% strength, it remains remarkably approachable, finishing with a lingering stone fruit character and a clean, integrated alcohol warmth that underscores its bold, modern hop expression.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (7-10 SRM). Features a persistent, dense white head with excellent lacing. Typical of the brewer's style, it displays a significant hazy opacity from the heavy use of flaked oats.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward bouquet dominated by peach rings, candied grapefruit, and a distinct tropical sherbet note. Simcoe provides a subtle resinous pine and passionfruit depth, while El Dorado contributes stone fruit sweetness. Malt is neutral and clean, providing a soft grainy background.
Taste. Initial impact of ripe peach and zesty grapefruit juice. El Dorado and Citra provide a hard-candy fruitiness, while Simcoe adds a supporting layer of pine. Bitterness is high but rounded and smooth, lacking harshness. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering fruity aftertaste and minimal malt toastiness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably soft, velvety, and luscious texture from the flaked oats. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol presence is noticeable but smooth, providing a well-integrated warmth without astringency.
