This Triple IPA, a collaboration between Garage Beer Co and Equilibrium Brewery, presents an intense sensory experience typical of a robust Double IPA. The aroma and palate are dominated by a massive fruit cocktail profile driven by Citra and Citra Cryo, yielding deep layers of stone fruit and melon. The addition of Bru-1 introduces sharp pineapple notes, while Galaxy adds delicate pear nuances. A judicious touch of Sabro contributes a unique creamy lemon and coconut finish. A protein-heavy grist and lactose addition create an exceptionally soft, round, and full-bodied profile, balancing the 10% ABV with a smooth, juicy character.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange-copper. Opaque with a heavy haze from the protein-rich grist. Moderate-sized, persistent, creamy white head with significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma showcasing a complex blend of tropical and stone fruits. Prominent peach and cantaloupe are layered with pineapple and pear. Subtle hints of coconut and lime emerge as the beer warms. Malt is low and bready, serving as a neutral backdrop to the hop saturation.
Taste. Explosive hop flavors mirror the aroma with intense stone fruit, melon, and tropical pineapple. High bitterness is present but softened by a creamy lactose sweetness and a round, velvety texture. Distinct pear flavors are followed by a light lemon-cream and coconut vibe. The finish is lingering and fruity with a well-integrated alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a soft, pillowy texture from the lactose and protein grist. Carbonation is moderate. Noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth is present but lacks harshness. High creaminess with minimal hop astringency.
