TIME MACHINE is a vibrant Double IPA that exemplifies modern hop intensity through a masterful blend of Citra, Motueka, and Nelson Sauvin. This unfiltered, New England-inspired ale pours with a distinctive haze, signaling a soft, juicy palate. Citra drives the profile with punchy grapefruit and lime zest, while Motueka adds a bright mojito-like citrus character. The addition of Nelson Sauvin introduces sophisticated notes of white wine grapes and gooseberry. Despite its 8% ABV, the beer remains exceptionally smooth, balancing its significant hop saturation against a clean, grainy malt backbone for a tropical, fruit-forward experience that finishes with a refined, lingering bitterness.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange-copper with a significant, unfiltered haze typical of the New England style. Topped by a moderate-sized, persistent, creamy white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical passionfruit, crushed lime, and grapefruit. Distinctive notes of white wine and gooseberry from the Nelson Sauvin are prominent. Supported by a low, neutral, grainy-sweet malt character and a clean fermentation profile with no solventy alcohol.
Taste. Intense hop flavors mirroring the aroma, featuring citrus, lime, and tropical fruit skins. Malt flavor is low but provides a soft, bready foundation. Bitterness is moderately high but smooth rather than harsh, balancing the fruit-forward sweetness. The finish is medium-dry with a clean, lingering hoppy aftertaste of citrus oils.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the fullness without adding astringency.
