This Double IPA radiates with a vibrant tropical profile, a result of its double dry-hopped New England-style construction. The 8.1% ABV provides a supportive foundation for an explosion of ripe mango, passionfruit, and zesty tangerine notes. Its hazy appearance and creamy texture enhance the sensory experience, steering away from the aggressive bitterness often found in classic West Coast iterations. Instead, it offers a soft, juicy character where a clean, grainy malt backbone allows the complex hop oils to dominate. The finish is smooth and remarkably drinkable, leaving a lingering impression of sun-ripened stone fruit and delicate citrus pith.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (7-10 SRM). Opaque haze with a thick, persistent, creamy white head that leaves dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passionfruit, crushed pineapple, and sweet orange peel. Subtle resinous pine and a soft, bready malt background. Neutral fermentation profile with no discernible solventy alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of juicy tropical fruit and peach. Malt flavor is low but supportive, with a soft, bready character. Hop bitterness is moderate and well-integrated, lacking any harshness or astringency. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering fruity aftertaste and a clean, warming alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a distinctly creamy, smooth texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift, while a restrained alcohol warmth develops on the swallow. No astringency.
