Galway Bay Brewery

This Hazy IPA offers a lush, fruit-saturated experience driven by a quartet of powerhouse hops. Idaho 7 contributes deep layers of pineapple and subtle pine, while Citra adds vibrant bursts of grapefruit and lime. Mosaic weaves in complex notes of berry and tropical stone fruit, all elevated by the distinctive white wine and gooseberry elegance of Nelson. The appearance is characteristically opaque with a luminous golden hue. On the palate, a soft, pillowy mouthfeel supports the massive hop intensity, masking a restrained bitterness. At 6.8% ABV, it delivers a gentle warmth that complements its juicy, off-dry finish, epitomizing the modern, fruit-forward American IPA.

Appearance. Color is straw to light amber (approx. 5 SRM) with a significant, opaque haze that provides a luminous quality. The head is a dense, rocky, meringue-like white foam with very high retention and substantial lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by pineapple and tropical fruit from Idaho 7, grapefruit and lime from Citra, and complex berry notes from Mosaic. Nelson adds a unique gooseberry and white wine grape character. Background malt is clean, lightly bready and grainy, with no caramel or toast. Fermentation esters are supportive and fruity.

Taste. High to very high fruity hop flavors reflecting the tropical, citrus, and vinous notes of the aroma. Malt flavor is low and bready, providing a soft foundation. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the full body. The finish is off-dry and smooth, leaving a lingering impression of tropical fruit juice without any harsh or grassy hop astringency.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and a smooth mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at 6.8% ABV. No harshness, acidity, or raw starchiness is perceived.
