Crafted as a 5th-anniversary celebration, this Specialty IPA showcases the sophisticated balance of a Black IPA. At 6% ABV, it leads with a high-intensity hop profile characterized by resinous pine, grapefruit, and a hint of tropical fruit. These bright notes are grounded by a restrained, debittered malt presence that offers light chocolate and toasted bread aromas without any acrid or burnt edges. The palate is defined by a firm bitterness that remains smooth, allowing the hop-forward character to shine against a clean, dark-malt backdrop. It finishes crisp and dry, leaving a lingering impression of citrus zest and cold-brew coffee.

Appearance. Dark ebony to black in color (35-40 SRM) and opaque. It features a moderate-sized, persistent light tan head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. High hop intensity with dominant notes of pine resin, citrus peel, and subtle melon. Malt aroma is low to moderate, presenting as dark toast and a touch of sweet cocoa. The fermentation profile is clean with no significant esters.

Taste. Initial impression is hop-dominant with flavors of resin and grapefruit. The malt flavor is medium-low, providing a supportive base of light chocolate and roasted grain without ashiness. It features a medium-high bitterness (approx. 60 IBU) that is firm but not harsh. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering bitter-roast aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a crisp mouth-coating sensation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
