Galana N. 12 presents as a formidable Double IPA, leaning into its Triple Rubia identity with a potent 11.5% ABV. The sensory profile is dominated by intense hop aromas of resinous pine and bright citrus, layered over a lean, neutral malt base that ensures a clean canvas. Despite its significant strength, it maintains the hallmark drinkability of the style, avoiding heavy caramel sweetness or a syrupy body. The finish is decisively dry and bitter, with a sophisticated, smooth alcohol warmth that lingers alongside persistent hop oils, creating a powerful yet balanced experience for the palate.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (8–12 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit zest, resinous pine, and hints of tropical melon. Background malt is clean and neutral with a light grainy sweetness. A noticeable but smooth alcohol presence is evident without being solventy.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of citrus and spice followed by a very high but clean bitterness. The malt character is supportive and unobtrusive, lacking heavy toast or caramel. Fermentation is clean with very low fruit esters. Finishes dry and crisp with a long-lasting, resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from hop resins. Medium-high carbonation provides a crisp bite. Significant, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, though it remains free of harsh astringency.
