Gage Roads Brew Co Side Track

Pale Ale 3.5 º 24 IBU
Side Track is a highly sessionable take on the Australian Sparkling Ale, designed for peak refreshment. It pours with the signature effervescence of the style, supporting a vibrant bouquet of fresh citrus and tropical fruit. Prominent notes of mango and pineapple lead the aroma, accented by a resinous hint of pine. The light malt base provides a clean, bready foundation that allows the crisp bitterness to shine without being overwhelming. True to its roots, it finishes exceptionally dry and spritzy, offering a modern, hop-forward twist on a classic Australian profile that remains balanced, bright, and incredibly easy-drinking.
Appearance. Deep yellow to light gold (4–6 SRM). Forms a tall, frothy, persistent white head with excellent retention. Displays brilliant clarity if decanted, though it may show a uniform cloudiness if the yeast is roused during the pour. High carbonation is visible through a steady stream of fine bubbles.
Aroma. Moderate intensity. Dominated by a modern hop character featuring bright citrus, tropical mango, and pineapple, with a subtle resinous pine undertone. Underlying the fruit is a soft, neutral grainy and lightly bready malt presence. Very low pear-like esters are present, consistent with the style, though largely complemented by the fresh hop profile. Clean fermentation with no caramel or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is of clean, grainy malt and immediate tropical fruit flavors. Mid-palate reveals a firm, crisp bitterness that balances the light malt sweetness. Hop flavors of pineapple and citrus zest are prominent, with an earthy, slightly resinous edge. The fermentation character is clean with low fruity esters like apple and pear. It concludes with a very dry, highly-attenuated finish and a lingering, clean bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body, feeling slightly fuller than its low ABV suggests due to the style's characteristic carbonation levels. Highly effervescent with a sharp, spritzy carbonic bite. Very smooth with no alcohol warmth. Exceptionally well-attenuated, leaving no residual sweetness or heavy film on the palate.

Lager – Other – Can 440ml – 4.2%

When we heard Chef Tom Barnes was opening his first restaurant in Manchester @skof_manchester and wanted to do a beer, we knew we had to make something special. Knowing the philosophy behind Toms food, we wanted to source the most local ingredients that we could to produce a crisp, refreshing Lager. We took a trip over to our nearest maltsters @fawcettmaltofficial and chose a speciality malt called Halcyon, which is only grown at the Fawcetts Farm. We then partnered that with a beautiful varietal of UK cascade. The result is a bright, refreshing lager with light citrus tones and rounded malt body.
