Ragnarök emerges as a powerful evolution of the classic Jarl, doubling down on its signature profile to deliver an intense Double IPA experience. Built on a robust foundation of Maris Otter malt and torrified wheat, the beer presents a rich, grainy backbone that supports a massive saturation of citrus and tropical hops. Expect an explosion of vibrant grapefruit, lychee, and resinous pine aromas. The palate follows with a firm bitterness and layers of tropical fruit, balanced by a smooth, medium body. It remains remarkably drinkable despite its strength, finishing dry with a clean, lingering hop presence and a gentle, well-integrated alcoholic warmth.
Appearance. Deep gold to light copper with good clarity; features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet dominated by grapefruit, passion fruit, and resinous pine. A supportive, clean, biscuity maltiness from the Maris Otter provides a grainy background, with a neutral fermentation profile and a hint of clean alcohol.
Taste. Strong initial impact of citrus and tropical fruit flavors, followed by a firm, moderately high bitterness that avoids harshness. The Maris Otter malt adds a soft, toasty depth without residual sweetness. The finish is medium-dry and clean with a long, resinous, hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture enhanced by the torrified wheat. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a lively lift, accompanied by a restrained and smooth alcohol warmth.
