Fuzz Tripa
This potent Double IPA radiates with the results of intensive biotransformation, showcasing a vibrant hop profile driven by fermentation-side additions. Intoxicating aromas of lush mango lead the charge, followed closely by a medley of tropical and stone fruits. Despite its formidable 10% ABV, the beer remains remarkably smooth and approachable, hiding its strength behind a clean, golden presentation. A moderate bitterness balances the soft, supporting malt structure without overpowering the fruit-forward character. It concludes with a dry finish, leaving a lingering impression of exotic fruit and a well-integrated warmth that invites another sip.
Appearance. Gold to deep gold (6–8 SRM). Moderate-sized, persistent white head with fine lacing. Generally clear, though a very slight biotransformation-induced haze may be present.
Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by ripe mango and tropical fruit. Secondary notes of stone fruit emerge from the hop-yeast interaction. Malt is low and neutral, providing a clean, grainy backdrop. Fermentation is clean with a subtle fruity ester profile that complements the hop character. No solventy alcohol.
Taste. Initial burst of sweet mango and tropical fruit flavors, followed by a light, clean maltiness. Hop bitterness is moderate for the style, lacking any harshness or resinous bite. The alcohol flavor is remarkably smooth and hidden for its strength. Finishes medium-dry and clean with a lingering hoppy aftertaste of tropical fruit skin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. Despite the 10% ABV, alcohol warmth is restrained and smooth, not prickly or solventy. No hop-derived astringency.
