Future Brewing Low Pro
This Double IPA presents a saturated, sensory-forward profile driven by an intensive triple dry-hopping of Nelson, Riwaka, Motueka, and NZ Cascade. The experience begins with a high-intensity bouquet of punchy tropical dankness and overripe stone fruit from the Nelson and Riwaka. These heavy notes are balanced by a soft, sweet citrus edge contributed by the Motueka and NZ Cascade. Despite its 10% ABV, the malt remains supportive and lean, allowing the complex juice-like layers to dominate. The finish is remarkably smooth for its strength, blending resinous depth with a persistent tropical sweetness and mild, clean alcohol warmth.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (6-8 SRM). Opaque to very hazy with a dense, creamy, persistent white head leaving heavy lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop character dominated by tropical fruit (passion fruit, mango) and dank, diesel-like notes from Nelson and Riwaka. Secondary notes of sweet lime, lemon zest, and grapefruit from Motueka and NZ Cascade. Malt is low and neutral, providing a light crackery backdrop. Clean fermentation profile with a hint of smooth ethanol.
Taste. Bold tropical fruit juice initial impression. Mid-palate reveals layers of white grape, crushed gooseberry, and sweet citrus oil. Bitterness is firm but rounded and not harsh, balancing the slight residual sweetness. Malt character is minimal, offering a soft, bready support. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering nectar-like sweetness and a resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth. Very low astringency despite the massive hop load.
