Future Brewing

This unfiltered American IPA showcases a vibrant collaboration between Future Brewing and Rocky Ridge, highlighting a modern New Zealand hop profile. Double dry hopped with Motueka, Southern Cross, and Rakau, the sensory experience is defined by an intense aromatic burst of lime zest, tropical passionfruit, and soft stonefruit. Despite its unfiltered nature, the palate remains crisp and lean, allowing the resinous pine and floral citrus notes to take center stage against a light, grainy malt backbone. The finish is decisively dry and bitter, characteristic of a West Coast profile, with a clean fermentation that lets the specific hop nuances of lemon peel and apricot linger.

Appearance. Deep gold (8 SRM) with a slight haze from the double dry hopping and unfiltered treatment. Pours with a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves moderate lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of fresh lime, lemon zest, and tropical mango, backed by apricot stonefruit and a resinous, piney undertone. Malt character is low and clean, providing a faint grainy sweetness with no caramel. Fermentation is very clean.

Taste. Immediate hop-forward impact of citrus peel and tropical fruit. Mid-palate reveals resinous pine and floral notes supported by a low, grainy malt sweetness. Bitterness is medium-high and firm, providing a sharp but clean structure. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering bitterness and a touch of stonefruit aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from the hop oils. Medium-high carbonation provides a crisp bite. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, though not harsh or solventy.
