Astral Bloom is a vibrant Double IPA that captures an celestial hop profile through a double dry-hopping of Citra and Galaxy. On the palate, Citra leads with a bright, zesty explosion of grapefruit and lime peel, while Galaxy introduces deep, lush layers of passion fruit, peach, and a hint of pineapple. The malt remains a clean, supportive backdrop, allowing the intense hop aromatics to shine without excessive sweetness. Though substantial at 7.8% ABV, the finish is remarkably smooth and dry, delivering a refreshing bitterness that balances the soft, hazy texture. This collaboration presents a modern, tropical-forward expression of the style with refined, effortless drinkability.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (6-8 SRM). Features a thick, persistent, creamy white head with excellent lacing. The body is hazy to opaque, consistent with modern unfiltered interpretations.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by explosive tropical fruit including passion fruit and pineapple, alongside bright citrus notes of tangerine and lime. A subtle grainy, bready malt character sits in the background, supported by a clean fermentation profile and no detectable solventy alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of peach, mango, and citrus zest. The malt flavor is soft and bready, providing a neutral, soft base. Bitterness is firm but smooth, lacking any harshness or resinous bite. The balance is decidedly hop-forward, leading to a medium-dry, clean finish with a lingering tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Displays a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any hop-derived astringency.
