This decadent Imperial Stout presents a masterful interplay of robust roast and dessert-like indulgence. Leveraging a massive 30°Plato base, the beer features freshly roasted Guatemala Huehuetenango coffee from HAYB, which contributes layers of bittersweet chocolate and subtle red fruit. The addition of thick Canadian maple syrup provides a luxurious, woodsy sweetness that coats the palate, harmonizing with an intense malt backbone. At 12% ABV, it is a formidable, velvety experience where the bitterness of the roast and the earthy coffee beans balance the rich residual sugars of the maple, resulting in a complex, warming profile designed for slow sipping.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). Pours with a dense, creamy, dark tan head that shows moderate retention. High viscosity and alcohol content are evidenced by prominent legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of freshly roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and woodsy Canadian maple syrup. The Guatemala Huehuetenango coffee provides nutty undertones and a hint of red berry fruitiness. Beneath the adjuncts lies a deep base of charred grain, black licorice, and a smooth, vinous alcohol presence.

Taste. An initial impression of rich, sugary maple is immediately countered by intense roasted malt flavors of espresso and 90% cacao chocolate. The HAYB coffee adds an earthy depth with a slight fruity acidity. Medium-high bitterness from both hops and roast provides necessary balance to the high gravity. The finish is long and lingering, featuring notes of burnt sugar, dark fruit, and a clean, warming alcohol glow.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, thick, and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture that coats the tongue. Carbonation is low to moderate. A significant but smooth alcohol warmth is present without being sharp or solventy.
