Funky Fluid Messy is a lush Hazy IPA that exemplifies the vibrant synergy of its anniversary collaboration. The sensory profile is dominated by a complex, juicy hop character driven by Mosaic, Sabro, and HBC 630. Mosaic imparts deep notes of blueberry and tropical mango, while Sabro introduces a distinctive creamy coconut and stone fruit undertone. HBC 630 rounds out the experience with hints of sweet raspberry and peach. This profile is supported by a soft, pillowy malt backbone and a restrained bitterness, resulting in a smooth, fruit-forward finish that captures the essence of the style perfectly.
Appearance. Straw to light amber (3-7 SRM) with an opaque, hazy clarity that provides a characteristic shine; topped by a medium, meringue-like white head with high retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a tropical medley of mango, coconut, and blueberry, accompanied by stone fruit notes like peach and raspberry. Malt character is low, offering a clean, grainy, and lightly bready foundation with supportive fruity esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor of tropical fruit, berries, and subtle coconut supported by a low, bready malt presence. Bitterness is low to medium and well-integrated, leading to a smooth, off-dry finish without any harsh hop bite or sharp aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and moderate carbonation. Features a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and is notably smooth with no perceived astringency or raw starchiness.
