A meticulous twenty-four-month residence in bourbon barrels has melded Imperial Stout and Barley Wine into a viscous, mahogany-hued masterpiece. The sensory profile is a decadent tapestry of aromatic vanilla beans, toasted cashews, and rich cocoa nibs, layered over deep caramel and toffee malt foundations. On the palate, a luxurious, chewy texture carries the significant warmth of the 16% ABV, tempered by intense dark chocolate and nutty complexity. Subtle earthy hop notes provide a necessary counterpoint to the lingering, dessert-sweet finish of oak and dried dark fruits.
Appearance. Deep reddish-brown to nearly opaque; dark mahogany highlights. Low to moderate tan-colored head with modest retention and light lacing, typical for such high alcoholic strength.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of rich caramel, toffee, and nutty specialty malts. Pronounced notes of bourbon-soaked oak, creamy vanilla, and dark chocolate cocoa nibs. Moderate fruity esters suggesting raisins and plums, with a noticeable but well-integrated alcohol presence.
