This masterwork merges the caramel-driven soul of a long-boiled Barley Wine with the roasted intensity of an Imperial Stout. Aged in Woodford Double Oaked and Jack Daniel's barrels, it presents an opulent sensory profile of charred oak, vanilla, and premium bourbon. The addition of cocoa nibs enhances the velvety chocolate character, while sun-dried figs provide a jammy, dark-fruit depth. Despite its immense strength, it maintains the fundamental complexity of a British Strong Ale, elevated by complex barrel tannins and a decadent, lingering finish. Expect a luxuriously thick texture where booze, sweetness, and roast converge into a singular, sophisticated experience.
Appearance. SRM 35–40; opaque black to deep mahogany. Minimal tan head with low retention and light lacing, reflecting high alcohol content and barrel oils.
Aroma. High intensity with complex layers of bourbon, vanilla, and toasted oak. Rich cocoa nibs and dark chocolate are dominant, supported by heavy esters of dried figs, raisins, and toffee-like malt.
Taste. Initial impression is rich and sweet with flavors of jammy figs and caramel. Mid-palate introduces intense dark chocolate, cocoa, and roasted malt bitterness. Significant bourbon and charred oak character provides structure. The finish is long and warming with a lingering balance of sweet malt and woody tannins.
