This Blonde Ale, a collaboration between Funky Fluid and Galea Craft Beers, presents an approachable yet characterful profile. The base offers soft, bready malt tones that set a clean stage for the distinctive hop additions. Palisade hops contribute a subtle peppery spice and floral depth on the hot side, while a dry-hop of HBC630 introduces modern notes of stone fruit and berry. Appearance. Deep gold in color (5 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a moderate, white, creamy head that shows good retention and leaves light lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a clean, grainy-sweet malt backbone. Hop character is pronounced for the style, featuring peppery spice from Palisade and subtle raspberry or peach notes from HBC630. Fermentation is clean with very low, background fruity esters.
Taste. Initial soft maltiness with flavors of white bread and light biscuit. Hop flavor is moderate, conveying an herbal peppery quality and soft tropical fruit. Bitterness is medium-low, ensuring a balance that favors the malt without being cloying. The finish is clean and medium-dry with a lingering hint of honey-like sweetness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, approachable texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a refreshing, crisp sensation. No perceived alcohol warmth.
