This assertive Double American Porter, a collaboration with Heist Brew Co, delivers an intense sensory experience inspired by the India Export Porter tradition. A bold roasted foundation offers deep layers of dark chocolate and espresso coffee, complemented by a sophisticated earthy tobacco nuance. The high alcohol content is well-integrated, providing a comforting warmth that carries a significant resinous hop presence. Expect a complex interplay between the bittersweet char of roasted grains and a firm, persistent bitterness. This robust interpretation elevates the American Porter style's classic chocolatey character into a modern, high-gravity masterpiece with a lingering, rich finish.

Appearance. Opaque, deep ebony to jet black with garnet highlights at the edges. Topped by a dense, persistent tan head with excellent retention and thick lacing (35-40+ SRM).

Aroma. High intensity; dominant notes of dark chocolate, heavily roasted coffee beans, and a distinct earthy tobacco. Significant resinous and floral hop aromas compete with the malt, supported by moderate dark fruit esters and a clean, warming alcohol presence.

Taste. Initial wave of bittersweet chocolate and espresso evolves into a complex mid-palate of dried tobacco and toasted bread crust. High bitterness from both dark malts and resinous hops provides a firm structure. The finish is long and warming with a lingering, slightly dry roasted character.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a smooth, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation provides enough lift to balance the significant weight. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present without harshness.
