This Double IPA, a collaborative tribute to the New York hop scene by Funky Fluid and Pinta, delivers an intense sensory experience driven by a massive double dry-hop addition. At 8% ABV and 18 degrees Plato, the profile is saturated with high-intensity aromas of tropical fruit, ripe citrus, and resinous pine typical of modern New World hops. The palate is defined by juicy stone fruit and melon notes, supported by a soft, neutral malt backbone. Despite being packed to the brim with hops, the finish remains remarkably smooth with a firm but balanced bitterness, highlighting a creamy texture and well-integrated alcohol warmth.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (6-8 SRM). Opaque with a dense, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent tropical fruit, citrus zest, and light resin. Background notes of neutral, grainy malt with a clean fermentation profile and a subtle, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors of mango, passion fruit, and tangerine. Moderately high bitterness that avoids harshness. Minimal bready malt character provides a soft foundation. The finish is medium-dry and lingering, dominated by oily hop resins and fruit esters.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation creates a creamy sensation on the tongue. Features a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth without astringency.
