Funky Fluid

This American IPA presents a sharp, refreshing sensory profile driven by a bold hop duo. Citra hops lead with a bright surge of grapefruit and lime zest, while the inclusion of Comet hops introduces a distinctive, pungent layer of lemongrass and wild citrus. The experience is defined by a lean, grainy malt base that allows the high bitterness to resonate cleanly across the palate. Assertively dry and crisp, it showcases a modern West Coast character where the herbal and citrus aromatics linger long into a parching, resinous finish, epitomizing the classic hop-forward balance of the style.

Appearance. Deep gold (approx. 7 SRM) with excellent clarity. Topped by a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves intricate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of lemongrass and lemon peel from the Comet hops, layered over Citra-derived grapefruit and light tropical fruit. A low, clean, grainy maltiness provides support. Fermentation profile is neutral.

Taste. Initial impression is a punch of sharp bitterness. Hop flavors of grapefruit peel and zesty lemongrass dominate. Low grainy-sweet malt flavor is present but quickly overtaken by a high, clean bitterness. The finish is decidedly dry with a lingering, resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a refreshing bite. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated.
