Funky Fluid

Funky Fluid Chuffed is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases the multifaceted character of the Talus hop variety. Pouring with a characteristic glow, it immediately releases an intense bouquet of pink grapefruit, zesty citrus, and lush tropical fruits, backed by the subtle woody and floral notes signature to Cryo-processed hops. On the palate, a soft, bready malt base supports a saturated hop profile that balances juiciness with a moderate, clean bitterness. The finish is smooth and off-dry, delivering a refreshing complexity that highlights the brewery’s mastery of the New England style through a silky mouthfeel and aromatic depth.

Appearance. Luminous straw to light gold (4-6 SRM); opaque with a persistent, brilliant haze that provides a healthy shine. Topped with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves thick rings of lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop character dominated by pungent Talus notes of fresh grapefruit, orange zest, and ripe mango, complemented by subtle pine and rose petal undertones. The malt is understated but present as a clean, doughy, and lightly bready foundation, while the fermentation profile remains neutral with low fruity esters.

Taste. Explodes with tropical fruit and citrus flavors, mirroring the aroma with layers of pink grapefruit and dried fruit complexity. A low-to-medium grainy malt sweetness provides a soft platform. Bitterness is moderate but notably more distinct than some in the style, providing a structured, clean counterpoint to the juicy hop oils. The finish is smooth and off-dry with a lingering citrus zest.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the creamy feel without being prickly. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated, with no perceptible astringency or harsh hop burn.
