This monumental anniversary blend captures the essence of long-boiled Imperial Stouts and Barleywines, meticulously aged in bourbon barrels. The profile is defined by a massive infusion of fresh and toasted coconut, delivering a creamy tropical richness that integrates with earthy cacao nibs and roasted hazelnuts. Deep layers of dark chocolate and caramel from the malts provide a decadent foundation, while the bourbon barrel aging contributes nuances of vanilla and toasted oak. Despite the staggering 15% ABV, the spirituous warmth remains smooth, leading into a long, bittersweet finish of dark fruit. It is a bold, viscous, and complex celebration of barrel-aged depth.
Appearance. Opaque, deep ebony color (40+ SRM) with a thin, dark tan head that shows low retention. High viscosity is evident through thick legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant aromas of toasted coconut, hazelnut, and dark chocolate. Supporting notes of bourbon, vanilla, and oak-derived spice meld with dark fruit esters like raisin and plum.
Taste. Intensely sweet and rich initial impression. Flavors of fudge, toffee, and heavy coconut dominate the palate, followed by the earthy bitterness of cacao nibs and toasted nuts. Bourbon character adds depth and a spicy warmth. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the massive malt backbone. The finish is lingering, sweet, and dessert-like.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and highly viscous with a syrupy, mouth-coating texture. Carbonation is low. Significant alcohol warmth is present but smooth and well-integrated. Very creamy.
