Logic Maze presents a masterclass in the Hazy IPA style, defined by a vibrant interplay of Motueka and Strata hops. The sensory experience begins with an explosion of tropical intensity, featuring bright lime zest and mojito-like citrus from the Motueka, beautifully layered against the passionfruit and sweet strawberry notes characteristic of Strata. This collaboration with Biererei delivers a soft, pillowy profile where grainy, bready malts provide a neutral canvas for the hop-derived juiciness. The finish is rounded out by a subtle, dank herbal undertone and a smooth, restrained bitterness that ensures high drinkability despite the complex, multifaceted fruit density.
Appearance. Straw to gold in color (SRM 4-5) with a luminous, opaque haze. It features a medium-sized, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick, persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by fresh lime, passionfruit, and hints of crushed berry. Background notes of white grapefruit and a subtle dank, herbal quality are supported by a neutral, lightly bready malt character and soft fruity esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with lime zest, tropical passionfruit, and a distinct berry-like sweetness. Malt flavor is low and bready, providing a soft foundation. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the soft mouthfeel. The finish is off-dry and juicy with a lingering citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, soft texture and no astringency. Carbonation is moderate. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the overall fullness without harshness.
