Berlin Flex Zone is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a masterful double dry-hop addition of Citra, Nelson Sauvin, and Galaxy. On the nose, it erupts with high-intensity notes of tropical passion fruit and crushed gooseberry, supported by a bright citrus backbone. The palate follows with a lush, velvety texture and flavors of sweet mango and white grape, balanced by a soft, restrained bitterness. A neutral, bready malt base ensures the complex hop profile remains the centerpiece. This is a quintessential modern IPA, offering a clean finish with a lingering essence of sun-ripened stone fruit and a refreshing, juicy complexity.
Appearance. Glowing straw to light gold with a deep, opaque haze and a characteristic hazy shine. Crowning the beer is a dense, white, meringue-like head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of tropical fruit aromas including passion fruit and mango from the Galaxy hops, blended with the distinctive crushed gooseberry and white wine notes of Nelson Sauvin. Citra provides a sharp citrus layer of lime and grapefruit zest. The malt presence is minimal, appearing as a soft, grainy, or lightly bready background. Clean fermentation profile with no discordant esters.
Taste. Massive fruity hop flavors dominate, led by ripe peach, passion fruit, and a subtle herbaceous white grape character. The malt provides a low-intensity, neutral cracker-like foundation. Bitterness is soft and well-integrated, providing just enough balance to avoid sweetness without any harshness or hop bite. The finish is smooth and juicy with a lingering tropical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, pillowy body with a soft, silky mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the fruity character without being prickly. Very light alcohol warmth is well-integrated. No astringency or hop burn is present, maintaining a smooth, drinkable texture.
